Summer in Tahoe comes fast—and if we’re not thinking a few steps ahead, it’s easy to watch the season get booked out around us. Tahoe changed after COVID. What started as a temporary escape for a lot of people turned into a permanent shift. More full-time residents, more remote workers, and a steady stream of tourism that hasn’t slowed down since 2020. Summer weekends, in particular, fill up quickly—and that goes for events, restaurants, and even beach parking. If you want to enjoy the best of what’s happening, it pays to plan ahead.
One way to make the crowds feel more manageable is to treat summer like a well-built itinerary: mix in time on the water with some standout local events that you plan ahead for and put on the calendar.
This week, I’m sharing a lineup of ticketed events that are worth locking in early. As you’ll see below, there’s a lot happening this summer—so to keep things concise, I’ll highlight the best free concerts and community events on June 13, following next week’s market update. I’m also adding everything to the Events page on my website, which you can bookmark as a quick and reliable resource for all the fun around the lake this season.
