Monday marked the official start of fall, and Tahoe is easing into the season with the first hints of aspens beginning to turn. While town still buzzes with weekend visitors, the lake and trails have settled into a quiet, peaceful rhythm—perfect for soaking in the last of the warm weather. This weekend also kicks off multiple Oktoberfest celebrations, ushering in one of the most festive stretches of the year around the lake. The housing market has also shown a welcome uptick in activity, as buyers respond to improved affordability following last week’s interest rate decline.
This week, we’re highlighting the best of Tahoe’s fall activities—from festivals and concerts to outdoor adventures—so you can make the most of the season around the lake.
Oktoberfest at The Village – Sept 27, 12:00–6:00 pm @ Palisades Tahoe

FireFest 2025 – Sept 27, 10:00 am–2:00 pm @ South Tahoe Middle School
Free community event with fire safety demos, helicopter flyovers, and kids’ activities.
Tahoe Games Mountain Sports Festival – Sept 27–28, all day @ Tahoe Amphitheater, Caesars
Multi-sport competition with MTB big air, yoga, live music, vendor village, and rail jam.
Great Trail Race – Sept 27, morning @ Tahoe Cross Country 925 Country Club Dr, Tahoe City, CA 96145
Annual run/bike race from Truckee to Tahoe City along scenic trails.
Trevor Hall – Sept 28, 7 pm @ The Hangar Lake Tahoe
Trevor Hall is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. His music is a fusion of roots, folk, and reggae.
